The Emergency Delivery Kit Includes:

Emergency Delivery Kit Instruction Manual – written by physicians in layman terms
1 large absorbent underpad – to absorb body fluids and protect carpet/furniture
1 pair gloves – prevent spread of infection to baby during delivery
10 gauze pads – for cleaning and wiping
1 nasal suction bulb – clean baby’s nose and mouth of secretions
1 baby receiving blanket – keep baby warm and dry
1 infant cap – prevent heat loss from baby
1 red placenta bag – preserve placenta for inspection by doctor
1 umbilical cord clamp – clamp off umbilical cord

If you do not use your Emergency Delivery Kit, these items can be used after baby is born in the following ways:

1 large absorbent underpad – line changing table for clean diaper changes
1 pair gloves – changing baby’s diapers
10 gauze pads – for cleaning and wiping
1 nasal suction bulb – suction baby’s nose when full of secretions
1 baby receiving blanket – keep baby warm and dry after bathing
1 infant cap – keep baby warm in cold temperatures
1 red placenta bag – bag for dirty diapers
1 umbilical cord clamp – seals red diaper bag to prevent odor

WARNING: The Emergency Delivery Kit is to be used only in an emergency when medical help is not available, and is not a substitute for trained medical personnel. We strongly advise that you seek medical attention early in labor so as to prevent any complications which can lead to injury to the mother and/or child. Seek medical care as soon as possible after any emergency delivery.
